Here is the note we received from Enid Hagerty, who is organizing the Slay the Bay Open Water Swim.
We are looking for kayak
safety support in the water from the Traverse Area Paddle Club.
We can use land
support too, but really want 10 kayakers with an extra life jacket to be
"on the course" during the Slay the Bay
Open Water Swim. The swim starts at 9 AM and I expect it to take no longer
than 2 hours (when we will close the course).
So, I am looking for kayakers from 8 AM
until 11 AM at Bryant Park on 9/8/2012
and for people on land
to help with timing, awards, registration, parking, set up and take down.
We also might need help
with placement of buoys - trial run the night before (9/7/2012) and early 6 AM
on 9/8/2012 the morning of for official placement.
