No one joined me for my paddle & hike, though it didn't rain, only a little light mist while paddling, then the sun sparkled on the fall leaves, as I hiked upstream on the Manistee River Hiking Trail, back to my car. This is my favorite stretch of the Manistee River, with riffles, and my favorite, local hiking trail, overlooking the sandy bluffs and many horseshoe bends in the river. There were several golden tamaracks, but not lined up like on the Boardman. By Sara Cockrell
