Boardman River from the Forks to Brown Bridge Dam
How was it?
Fast water, but not too hard to negotiate. Setting up early was the key to getting through.
What kind of boats were there?
Three solo canoes (J&L and Sara), 2 kayaks (M&M)
Anything noteworthy?
Warm day: shorts and sandals. Lots of downed trees, but we always managed to get around or over them. Brown Bridge Pond has changed the course of the river at the upstream end, and it was fun to explore. New islands and beaches. Cold water! Marv and Lois saw a deer crossing the river just as they were following a merganser on its trip downstream. Also saw a family of geese with one gosling that thought that Marv was its mother.
