Boardman River from the Forks to Brown Bridge Dam
How was it?
Lots of fun, with twists and turns and eddies and back ferries. Oh - and some mud too! A stunning sunny day, though a bit chilly.
What kind of boats were there?
Two solo canoes (Sara & John W), everyone else in 8 rec kayaks
Anything noteworthy?
Molly learned to lean downstream, and to do back ferries. They worked!!! Sara helped with photo ops and instruction. Marina learned about eddy turns. John H and Bob got deep into the mud at the top of the pond. We all learned the value of duct tape and garbage bags (in case someone loses their hatch cover on the way to the launch site). We also learned the value of drip rings and why they are on the paddle shafts. And then the importance of leaning downstream when you're stuck on a log.
