We will meet early enough to start & hopefully finish the trip before too much traffic is on the river. We plan to meet at 9:00 AM to have breakfast at Shirley's in the Woods cafe before we start paddling for those so inclined. Shirley's address is 10945 M-SE Kalkaska, MI (about 5 miles west of the take out right off M 72 heading towards Grayling).  Or be at the 612 put-in at 10:30 if you don't desire to eat out. You might have to wait for us if it is busy at Shirley's. 

The section of Manistee we will be paddling is wide, not especially deep, & has very little to navigate around in the river. It is a good trip for beginners or anyone wanting a nice relaxing time on the water.   We want the group to stay together & not spread too far apart for safety reasons. Bring the usual change of clothes in a dry bag, plenty of drinking water and a snack. Don't forget PFD, paddle, & bow/stern lines.   We will try to arrange a reverse shuttle with the breakfast people, but if not, we will run the shuttle when we all get to the put-in.
