This trip will cover the stretch of the Betsie from Carmean Road to Lindy Road, just outside of Thompsonville. The river requires some maneuvering and you will encounter a few short rapids, but nothing that an adventurous beginner can't handle. The water is warm, shallow and very clear. We will meet after lunch, and stop for a snack midway through the paddle. Our actual time on the river should be about three hours.
We will run the shuttle from Carmean Road; the exact time will be sent to you with your confirmation e-mail message. On this trip, we will have the help of the kind folks at the Betsie River Canoes and Campground, and our vehicles can all be left at the takeout at their property.
