The Boardman River Clean Sweep has been on a Covid -19 hiatus for a year but WE ARE BACK!

Our 2021 season is being planned and the very first project we want to tackle is a long awaited and needed cleanup at the dual public properties down a steep slope behind the Goodwill Inn along the Boardman River just south of Logan's Landing off Keystone Rd. See map.

The plan there is to have jail inmates, homeless campers and volunteers bag the trash and place it in canoes to be ferried to the YMCA which is about 200 yards downstream.

We expect about sixty 55 gallon bags of trash to be collected. If a canoe can carry 6 bags, that's 10 trips more or less. So 5 canoes can do it in 2 trips each. Eezy-peezy.

Large items will be carried up to the City Brush Dump south of the work site.

We'll supply the boats, paddles and pfds and you provide SKILL. No amateurs please. We don't want to be doing rescues and trash bag recovery.

Saturday, April 17 - 9:00am for "ground" volunteers at the
Brush Dump on Keystone Rd.

On the water volunteers, 8:30 at the "old" YMCA of S. Airport.
