New members Byron Block and Libby Shapiro joined Fred Swartz, Dan Wittkopp, Lois Goldstein, and John Heiam on this warm spring day at the Lake Dubonnet boat access. We unloaded our kayaks, and launched for a casual paddle around the lake. There was a strong westerly wind, but we didn't notice it until we got to the far side of the lake. We paddled around the back side of the islands to escape the wind, and spent some time watching the eagle sit just above his/her giant nest. After we rounded the islands, we had to beat our way back against the wind to the lee shore. We landed two hours after we launched.
