October 9 Upper Platte

Marv, Marlene, and Rick paddled a moderately fast Platte River under partly sunny skies. The gauge at Pioneer Road was read as 1.85 feet. The fall colors in Benzie County were not as brilliant as they were farther inland toward the middle of Michigan, maybe due to the moderating effect of Lake Michigan. Still, a pleasant paddle on a fall afternoon.
