Trip Reports
May 6 - Manistee, Woodpecker Creek to Red Bridge
Sara Cockrell | Published on 5/7/2018
My 3rd TAPC paddle with 8 other members, thanks to Bob Fitch for organizing. We lucked out paddling after the morning rain, enjoying a little sunshine & lots of comraderie! We put-in at Woodpecker Creek for the fastest section of the Manistee, 2 hrs to Red Bridge, which is being rebuilt until the end of Sept. We spotted yellow trout lilies at the put-in, a turtle on a log, a pair of mergansers, Canada geese, one pair with 5 goslings, and 4 other pairs nesting still. Afterwards, we enjoyed dinner together at the Hofbrau in Interlochen. What a fun afternoon & evening with my paddling friends!
