June 23 Power Island

A couple of days before the scheduled date, we looked at the forecast, and moved the trip from Thursday to Wednesday. Seven of the original 10 registrants canceled by the time we left the house. That was just as well. We only had three paddlers, so it was easy to make decisions together, and keep things safe. We actually had a really good time.
As our little group headed towards Power Island, Mother Nature sent some strong winds from the south, so we headed back to the boat access after an hour of waves breaking over the bows of our kayaks. This was our only photo, taken by Paul, during his first week of official retirement. We had a wonderful time catching up! Lois
