Given the weather forecast (high of 50, but no rain), we have changed the trip to an afternoon paddle. We will meet for lunch first in Grayling, and then spend the afternoon on the river.  Details about exact meeting time will be sent to all participants after you register.

Paddling time should be about 4 hours.

This trip is a perfect intro to river paddling, and should be a fun experience for canoeists and kayakers of all abilities.  The Main AuSable is a wonderful place to practice the skills that you may find useful later in the season, since you'll be doing a little bit of maneuvering.

In the summertime, the AuSable is filled with rental canoes, but in the springtime, we will have it mostly to ourselves.  We may meet some people fishing along the way, but otherwise, it should be a peaceful float, with good opportunities for wildlife sightings.

Each participant should have a waterproof bag with a complete change of clothing.  Make sure you have appropriate footwear in case you need to step into the water when entering your boat.
