We will attempt to catch the mist on the Boardman river just after sunrise.

The paddle is normally about 3 hrs but we might have lots of stops.  Afterward  interested participants will go out for a hearty brunch.  Expect a cool start so bring warm clothing and a dry bag.

The current is quick, there are some obstacles, turns, and riffles.  Novice paddlers with moving water experience and a spirit of adventure are welcome.  The river and air will be cold in the early morning, have warm clothing and a well stocked dry bag. Pretend it is late September not August.

We will stop for photo ops (duh!) and folks should be willing models when not shooting.   We are not moving fast on this trip. (so again dress warm)

Boardman (Brown Bridge Landing)

Take Garfield Road south of Traverse City to River Road.  Turn left (east) and drive about 1/4 mile.  You will cross Arbutus Hill Road, and then the river itself.  Turn left into the TC Light and Power parking lot.  If you run out of blacktop, you went about 50 yards too far.  We can now drive down the path 100 yards to access the river.

Coordinates:  44.641946,-85.510026

(Note: MapQuest thinks the pond is still there - it's a river now, folks!)
