This stretch of the Pine is just exquisite!  There is very little rental traffic, and no watercraft permits are necessary on this section.

We will begin in the morning, and will stop for a picnic lunch along the way.  The exact meeting time will be sent to you with your email confirmation.  Total paddling time is about 4 hours.

The Upper Pine is a great river to practice maneuvering skills.  This trip is open to adventurous beginners as well as those folks who already know how to avoid downed trees and submerged rocks.  If you would like to develop these skills, we can give you some pointers as you head downstream.  The water is very clear, and isn't very deep, so it's a great place for a leisurely trip on a summer day.  If we see trash, we will stop to pick it up.

For driving directions, see the listing for Pine River (5 Mile - Briarpatch access) on our website.  NOTE: Do NOT rely on your smartphone for navigation purposes.  Cell coverage can be spotty; once we had someone totally lost on the way to the put-in and they just turned around and went home.
