This trip will cover the stretch on the Manistee River from the Sharon Road Canoe Launch to M-66. The river is wide with quite a few turns and perhaps some underwater obstacles. They shouldn't be a major problem. We will be paddling for 3 to 4 hours, and we will stop along the way for snacks. The trip is an excellent one for families.
Everyone should bring a boat, paddle, PFD, ropes to tie on the bow and stern, water bottle and a snack. Bring a dry bag just in case. And have a change of clothes and shoes in the vehicle so you can be nice and dry on your way home.
Driving directions are on the TAPC website. Note that there are two different routes, depending on where you live with respect to TC (east side or southwest). Also included are a map and coordinates. Go to Manistee River (Sharon Road) or Manistee River (M-66)
