Fall colors on the Manistee are very pretty, with lots of opportunity to look around and admire the view. This is an easy river, wide with very few obstructions. Come join me for an autumn color tour, no worries about driving off the road while gazing at the leaves!
This paddle begins at Rainbow Jim’s (the location is listed in the Driving Directions). We will takeout at US-131. There will be a snack stop at Lucas Road.
The river has many deep spots so it is advisable to wear a PFD. This time of the year it is advisable to have a dry bag on board. Bow and stern lines are also required.

To find this landing, locate the town of Fife Lake (southeast of TC, near US-131 and 186) on a map. Drive a mile around the north side of the lake, and then follow Coster Road southeast approximately 4 miles to the river. The landing is on the southeast side of the bridge. Driving time from Acme is about 45 minutes.
