A good beginning of the season paddle on the Manistee River, suitable for beginners or those wishing to dust off the cobwebs from the winter.
Meet for lunch at "Shirley's in the Woods", 10945 M-72 SE, Kalkaska, MI (about 5 miles west of the take out, right off M-72 heading towards Grayling)  before the trip if you'd like at 11am or be at the 612 put in around 12:30pm if you don't desire to eat out.  We will try to arrange a reverse shuttle if possible with the luncheon attendees, otherwise we will see everyone at the put-in, then run the shuttle.  Bring the usual cold weather change of clothes in a dry bag, plenty of drinking water & a snack.  Don't forget PFD, paddle & bow/stern lines.  Dress for the weather.  This trip will not go if cold & rainy, so be diligent about doing your sunny weather dances!
