Even though some few did sign up for this event, they later had to cancel for personal reasons. I canceled the event.
However:
David and I (Norm) had been trying to find a day to paddle the Sturgeon, so we decided to go anyway.
It was a gorgeous day and we got there at around 10:00am. No need to hurry, no one was meeting us. We dropped off our boats and got a shuttle from Henley's as always.
We paddled from Wolverine to North White Bridge.
The river was in pretty good condition but we did find a good bit of trash.
We were able to pick up about half of what we found and at the end, a teenager came over and took the bags in order to get the money for the cans. He said he would put the rest in his dad's dumpster. I hope he didn't drink the un-opened ones, but OH Well! Can't worry about that now.
Maybe we can do a better job in September on the day this event was rescheduled to.
