Jordan River Cleanup

Five of us, Dawn F.  MaryLee O, John M, Karen M, and Norm F, met up with Don from Swiss Hideaway for the shuttle from Graves Xing to Webster Bridge.

We got on the river right before a huge group of people who we would later assist but not have to rescue.  The river was pretty clean for the first mile or so but then the trash became more abundant and by lunchtime at the tubes we had 1 full large bag and a bunch of  loose cans.

Some of the renters paddled along with us for a while talking about the virtues of long vs short kayaks.  They were not convinced that shorter boats are better for the river when they soon left us.

After lunch, we continued to Webster Bridge and tallied up the haul.  4 full large bags.  John took the unopened beer to give to his wife for fertilizer.

A big THANK YOU! to Swiss Hideaway who disposed of the trash for us.

Also, congratulations to Dawn and MaryLee for doing so well on this, their first time joining one of Norm's cleanups.  They did really well and no one got very wet.
