May 20 Pine River

Who came?  Rob, Jocelyn, Fred, Judy, John & Rosario, John & Lois

What kind of boats?  three rec kayaks, one solo canoe, one brand new Wenonah Prospector canoe on its maiden voyage, and one Swift DuMoine canoe

Where did we go?  Pine River from Dobson to Low

Anything noteworthy?  John W and Rosario had arrived from El Paso 36 hours before the outing.  John H test paddled the new canoe, and delivered it too.  Nobody got wet.  Fred surfed waves and still managed to keep up.  Rob was awesome in helping everyone with boats and gear. 


Nobody yelled in the tandem canoes. 




Jocelyn did a great job of leading in the morning.  Judy couldn't think of anything funny enough for the trip report.  We got to Peterson in 1:30, and to Low in 2:15.  The river was cruising!  Special thanks to Mark Miltner and his crew from PRPC, who had obviously done a ton of safety work; we saw many spots where they had cleared out trees that were blocking the river.   And Lois wrote the report with photos by Fred.
