Benzie Conservation DIstrict

Postponed until Tuesday due to rain
From Jodi Monteith - BCD

Good afternoon all,
There is a 70% chance of rain here in Benzie County tomorrow around 10:00 AM, so I am going to postpone tomorrow's Plate River Clean Sweep until Tuesday the 15th.
We will meet at the Platte River Park @ 2865 Indian Hill Rd. at 9:30.
(We can't meet at Maley Park on Tueday because of the Honor Market will be going on.)
We will then shuttle to launch sites at Vetrans Park and Jim's house in Honor which is 10853 Riverside Dr., Honor.
I will divide us into groups when I have a final count, so please let me know if you can't make it.
I hope to see you all on Tuesday.
Jodi

Upper Platte River Sweep

July 12, 2025 - - - - 9:30 Meeting

We'll meet at 9:30am at Maley Park aka Artesian Well Park (on US31) in Honor.

For those of us that will paddle upstream and to keep from having to run the shuttle
twice, arrive early and drop your boats and gear at Veteran's Park BEFORE the meeting.

The UPR is a fun little river that easy to paddle an fun to clean.
It has it's moments but mostly, it's pretty easy.

There are two sections.
The UPPER is faster and one is slower.
More advanced paddlers should paddle the faster section.

The faster section is from Veteran's Park on US31 to Honor.
We'll drop our boats and gear there before the meeting and do the
shuttle after the meeting in Honor.

The slower section is from Honor to Deadstream Rd. Less
advanced paddlers should do that section.

Come out and enjoy the day with us on this exceptional river.
