Fall colors, a wonderful paddling companion (Glenn) who asked us several times, "How come nobody else came out here on this gorgeous fall day?"  Beats me.  Lois & John
 
The maples and aspen are near their peak.
 
 
The light green tree is a larch that is just starting to turn gold. It is the only tree that sheds its needles every fall.
 
I think this is the last blue heron in Michigan.  He/she is probably heading south tomorrow!
 
 
Notice that the clouds finally cleared and we were treated to blue skies and bright sun.
