August 29th Lower Platte Cleanup

We started off on a beautiful morning. Two of the rangers, Stephanie & Danielle helped us with the shuttle!! On the middle of the trip, we saw a blue heron stop to eat lunch. It also flew over the river with a fish in its bill! The trip was planned perfectly because the weather was amazing. We found lots of trash including towels, sandals, a beer bong, and sunglasses. I also dove to get some things from the bottom! I spent lots of the day in the water instead of the canoe! We also got a good look at a painted turtle sitting on a log before he jumped back into the water. Overall, the trip was amazing and I hope to go on another one like this in the future!!
