Trip Reports

Another great paddle on the Chain of lakes with Steve, Marlene, Tracie, Jackie,  Glenn, Henry and his friend John.  Glenn called me prior to discuss wind speed and direction, I looked at my flag SW around 10 mph enough to reverse paddle the trip. We put in and headed north up the river to be greeted by a 10-15 mph headwind when we got to the south end of Intermediate Lake. The paddle was slow going but everyone hung tough then things calmed when we got to the lee side of the lake. By the time we made it to Central Lake everyone was ready for a good meal at Short's in Bellaire. When I got back home I looked at my flag and guess what . Winds were still out of the Southwest at 10- 15 mph, I am all of 6 miles from the lake as the crow flies. Beware of the Traitor winds on the chain. We are no 0 for 3 on trip direction.
