June 25 Short sweet Boardman trip

Summer has finally arrived!  We planned this outing just a couple of days ago, after realizing that we hadn't been offering many trips for novices.  There were just 3 of us: John & Lois and Donna, with her brand new Liquid Logic Inuit 12.5 (which she had test paddled on the Bay on Sunday).  She loves the way it turns, and we all loved the solitary feel of the river today.  We picked up a couple of items of trash, and made it from the Forks to Scheck's in less than an hour and a half.  A wonderful little trip in the late afternoon.  You should have been there!
The surprise was a project that we helped plan (with the GTCD) in recent years: a new parking lot has been cleared across the street from the Forks Landing - it's not quite ready, but the brand new potty is!  Much closer than the one in the campground!
