This will be an open water paddle along the shore of East Grand Traverse Bay.  At the turn-around point, we plan to get out and explore the Petobego State Game Area, which was recently deeded to the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy.  For more info see http://www.whitewatertownship.org/petobego-natural-area.html
Actually, most of the shoreline is public land, so we can pull over almost anywhere.  Bring a kayak that's at least 12 feet long.  We can go out for lunch afterwards, or have a picnic at the shelter in Sayler Park.  We will decide which starting point on the morning depending on the wind direction.  It will either be Sayler Park in Yuba or Elk Rapids beach in Elk Rapids. I will call everyone to let them know in the morning.  PFDs to be worn at all time while on the water.  We will be staying in a group and watching out for each other.
