This trip is designed with beginner paddlers & new club members in mind. You may sign up if you don’t fit either category, but must cheerfully follow all the following requirements:
1.PFDs must be worn.
2.You must have bow & stern lines.
3.You must stay with the group.
4.There will be a lead & sweep, if you need to stop, one of them must be notified.
5.No one will be left behind, each person should watch for the person behind them. If you can no longer see them, you should pull over to the bank & wait for them.  Using this method, we can get everyone caught up & regroup.
6.Wear shoes that will stay on your feet in the river, no flip-flops, Croc style clogs, & no bare feet.
7.Bring a dry bag with a change of clothes.

Pack a lunch, twice as much water as you think you will need & something to sit on during the lunch break.
Bug spray, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses & sport strap for glasses all come in handy.

The river is wide & easy to navigate. Not many obstacles to worry about & the pace will be slow, although we will paddle & not just float. Expect about 2.5 to 3 hours of time on the river, the remainder will be used to run shuttle & load boats.
If you have questions or are not certain on what to bring, please call me (Tracie) at 231-313-9839.
