Bring lunch and water. This is such an open river that a hat and sunscreen is re ommended.

Bring a PFD to have with you (I'll wear mine) but painters (ropes) on your boat fore and aft are required.

Have gear to the put-in and be ready to shuttle by the start time. Be prepared to carry people on the shuttle as necessary. I'll have a trailer to carry the boat(s) back to thr put-in.

Enjoy this section of the Manistee that has good flow and interesting currents.  It is free from development and can even seem uncrowded on a holiday weekend.

We will have lunch on the river and if weather and time permits, we may stop to cool off for a swim break
