Ever wondered what was beyond Red Bridge on the Manistee River? We have taken out many times at Red Bridge. Have you ever thought “Hmm, I wonder what it’s like to paddle past here? What is down around that next bend? “Well here is your chance! We are going to put in at Red Bridge and check it out. We will either do a down or back or possibly take out near Tippy Dam. It all depends on the weather. Since we have not done this part of the river before, we do not know how strong the current is. I have talked to a few people and have been told we should be able to paddle back to Red Bridge. If you think paddling back up river might be too much of a challenge maybe wait until next year when we know how hard this is going to be. Since, it might be the only way to exit the river. I have been told there are many islands to investigate along the way. So if you think you are up to the challenge please join us. We are hoping the colors are out in full. If you have questions please call or email me before signing up. PFD’s MUST be worn at all times while on the water. Spray skirts are HIGHLY recommended if we are able to go all the way to Tippy dam. We could run into some waves and ruff water while paddling the lake area. MUST AT ALL TIMES stay together; we don’t want to miss anyone while exploring the islands. Pack a snack or lunch, we are hoping to find someplace to stop and eat. Bow and stern lines and dress warmly.
