We paddled this section of the river a couple of weeks ago, and saw several items lodged in the bottom or stuck in log jams. Lots of rental people from Ranch Rudolf can't manage the twists and turns of the river, and they can't retrieve the things they lose. And after Labor Day, there will probably be a bit more stuff. So we plan to get those things hauled out this time around. Anyone who wants to assist in the effort is welcome to join us.
Note: we plan to run the shuttle at 9:30 AM. Bring your usual paddling gear and a grabber stick. If you don't own one, I have extras - let me know if you need to borrow one. Don't forget ropes for the bow and stern of your boat, and your PFD. I will bring a few big trash bags; please bring some small ones.
Driving directions Boardman River (Forks)
Take Supply Road southeast from the Traverse City area to Brown Bridge Road, just past the bridge over the river. Turn west and drive about ½ mile to the river access.
