3rd Annual Middle Manistee River Cleanup

Look For Real Time Updates in RED

We will not paddle the the entire river section.   It is reall a long one.

We will cut the trip in half and do it to Chase Creek Landing.

It's still a nice float and we should have a good time.

Here's the map coordinates to the takeout in reverse order.

1.  We will meet at the Landing at the Bridge NOT The Clubhouse

Lucas Landing - Manistee River (Fahrney Rd)
Coordinates: 44.505133, -85.311863
The Club's Directions are not the best!

From anywhere north of Fife Lake:
Find US131.  Either in Kalkaska or any other way you can.
Go south until you PASS Fife Lake turnoff.  DO NOT GO TO FIFE LAKE!.
Go south until you pass the CR113 intersection.   Go 3/4 of a mile and look for Co. Line Rd. on the left.  Turn Left.   Go EAST 3.5 miles and find Bosscher Rd and turn Right.  After one mile, at a left hand bend in the road, it becomes Fahrney Rd and about 3/4 of a mile past that bend is the river.  The landing is on the left before you get to the bridge.

Norm's Directions  from Traverse City
My directions from Traverse City would be to go to Kingsley and go east on CR113.
Go until it dead ends and turn right (south).  Go 3/4 of a mile and look for Co. Line Rd. on the left.  Turn Left.   Go 3.5 miles and find Bosscher Rd and turn Right.  After one mile, at a left hand bend in the road, it becomes Fahrney Rd and about 3/4 of a mile past that bend is the river.  The landing is on the left before you get to the bridge.

With

The Walton Junction Sportsman's Club

We'll work with the folks from the Walton Junction Sportsman's Club,
which is just north of the river off US131.

We will try to cleanup 1 or 2 six mile sections of the Manistee similar
to the way we work it on the Upper Manistee.

We'll meet at Lucas Bridge (Missaukee Bridge)

Let's make this new project a big success.
