Friday morning started with Susan and me checking our kayaks on the roof of the car and all the gear we needed for our day kayaking trip down the Au Sable River. We enjoyed our drive, discussing looking forward to a day on the river.
Our trip leader meet us in town so we could relax driving to the kayak input, excellent coordination and driving instructions.
A wonderful day on the river, the weather was perfect, warm but not too much sun.
The excitement of the day was, Otter launching off the lunch site. I was reluctant to risk sliding down the hill and risking a potential tip over into the cold river, but with everyones encouragement I gave it a try. I loved, it was a really fun experience.
The day included many zigs and zags around fallen trees, but the current was calm preventing any crashes into trees only smooth turns and stops.
